Antitrust asks oil firms, fuel stations owners to cut fuel prices

MOSCOW, Oct 5 (PRIME) -- Russia’s Federal Antimonopoly Service has sent a letter to vertically-integrated and independent oil companies, and independent fuel stations demanding that fuel prices be reduced, the authority said in a statement Thursday.

"The Federal Antimonopoly Service has sent a letter to all vertically-integrated and independent companies concerning the need to reduce the sales price of fuel because of a decrease of the market (wholesale) prices for oil products and to send information on the fulfillment of the measure to the service," the statement read.

The antitrust will qualify a possible lack of measures by the companies as signs of a violation of the antitrust legislation.
